About Us

The Battle Creek Regional History Museum (BCRHM) was established in 2014 to preserve and celebrate the rich, diverse history of our region. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of donors like you — and all contributions are tax deductible.

Housed in a historic 49,000-square-foot former manufacturing building at 307 W. Jackson Street in Battle Creek, our museum has been more than a decade in the making, guided by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.

Our Progress

Phase One (Complete): We transformed our former warehouse space into a welcoming lobby, gift shop, and History Education Center — now the hub for our public presentations and community events.
Phase Two (In Progress): We're converting the remainder of our manufacturing space into a large exhibit hall. Two-thirds of the space is already built out and open, currently featuring rotating temporary exhibits. We're actively fundraising to complete the final third — including drywall, painting, and electrical work — along with upgraded flooring and lighting throughout, and the development of permanent exhibit displays.

Building Community Through Collaboration

BCRHM is proud to serve as a home for regional history beyond our own walls. We house the Mary Butler Historical Archives on behalf of the Battle Creek Historical Society and preserve the Kingman Collection in our basement as that organization plans its future.

Together with these partners and the Fort Custer Historical Society, we've formed the Battle Creek Museum Alliance — a collaborative effort to strengthen area museums and bring joint programming and events to our community.
