The history of Battle Creek's first high school began in a small three-storied brick schoolhouse on McCamly Street named the 'Union School'.
As the community grew, so did the school...so much, that the 'Number One' School replaced it in the 1870's. By the early 1900's, the school building again needed to be replaced, and the present high school building was opened...and was called Battle Creek High School.
This program tells of the process of buildings and education concepts that led to the present Battle Creek Central High School, and its cutting-edge facility.
